Slope retention systems, also known as anchored net systems, consist of a system of anchoring nets or mesh sheets to the slope using dense soil or rock anchors and specialized anchor plates. The spacing and location of the anchors are determined by the expected failure mode and the potential mass of the mobilized material. The system is designed to resist the loads and hold the material in place.
The most important material parameters to consider when designing are tensile strength and puncture strength.
